After a brilliant collaboration with Jason Reep aka Excel on fascinating No Disgrace In The Bass E.P. last year, mysterious but promising talent Tim McDaniel returns to Florida label Exceleration with his first debut solo release. And what a four tracker! Passing the examination with success, this new US artist associates on A side with half of Ghosts In The Machine fame duo Hollowgraphik himself to deliver on Xenophobe an uncompromising dancefloor slaughter merging evil bass programming, industrial tonalities and nightmarish layers. A cut that is sure to smoke any speaker with its infectious atmosphere and maniacal vocoder! Next is Coming Thru, a perfect introduction to T.E.S.Ts own introspective universe in the form of a pure new school electro tune based upon melancholic strings, bubbling arpeggiators and dark Sci Fi effects. On the flip, deep Feel stays on a similar level but goes a step further into the rockin register, blending trancey elements, electric guitar and female vocals. At last, Dark Moment ends the twelve on a sensible but strong jewel made of warm synths, hypnotical loops, clear bass line, hip hop lyrics and perfectly placed samples. Between hard-edged and soft-centred musical stylings, Tims music merits your attention because of the careful emotion dropped into each cut. Another ace release from Exceleration.
